Why Care?

The world is becoming more divided by the day, which, in my view, makes sports all the more important.

Sports have a way of bringing people together, regardless of what drives us apart; if nothing else, they’re a welcome distraction.

Personally, sports give me a reason to get up in the morning; there’s always something to watch. They’re also a great excuse to plan social events, order food, and to care about something that has no direct impact on my life apart from bringing me my highest highs and my lowest lows.

And they can do the same for you.

That said, if you have no intention of ever caring about sports, I certainly won’t force you. Live your life; you’re doing great.

But if you never cared about sports because you were never introduced to them, never understood them or feel like you don’t have the time or energy to care, you may just surprise yourself.

Don’t worry, though, you don’t have to care as much as your co-worker who won’t shut up about his fantasy football team; you can follow along at your own pace.

Some sports can even be more fun to follow than they are to watch, so once you develop a bit of an interest, the combination can be captivating.

(On a side note, fantasy sports have played a primary role in many of my friends’ interest in sports, so I may recommend it…but we’ll get to that)

Regardless, no matter how young or old you are, sports shouldn’t discriminate.

So if you’re looking for a way in, welcome!

I hope this gives you one.
