10. Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson

When I was a kid, my hockey coach asked us for song recommendations to play in the room before games. My mom told me to suggest this one, so I did.

It never got played. And we never won.

.

9. Lovely Day – Bill Withers

Since this appears to be the decade bringing back all my childhood memories, I’ll say that my first interaction with this song was watching a little girl sing it in a talent show.

15 years later, it grew on me.

.

8. Go Your Own Way (2004 Remaster)

Nothing from my past for this one, but my childhood self would be surprised (and probably a bit annoyed) by how much my sister’s taste has collided with my own.

.

2. Everybody Loves You Now

Refreshing youth.

.

6. Pink Moon – Nick Drake

After ‘ Cello Song, there was Pink Moon.

.

5. Vienna – Billy Joel

A letter probably meant for himself as much as anyone else.

.

4. Dreams (2004 Remaster) – Fleetwood Mac

A song that feels like it’s been holding something in for a while.

.

3. Ventura Highway – America

Feeling as though you’re on an adventure with no end in sight.

.

2. Place To Be – Nick Drake

After Pink Moon, there was Place To Be. I’d hardly call it better but rather more consistent.

.

1. Landslide – Fleetwood Mac

A song about growing pains with feminine energy emanating from every lyric, telling the world to listen.
